WWII Oil Storage Tunnels Tour
Located beneath the cliffs of Darwin city, this tour provides historical information relating to the concept of the tunnels.
Learn the role these tunnels played in the Australian defence during World War II. Lining the walls you'll find photographs of the men and women who served for the country, as well as interesting artefacts recovered from the war. You'll even get to meet the Digger Man' - a statue fully constructed from items and materials collected during WWII!
The WWII Tunnels these days feature a photographic display of Darwin during WWII including photographs of the brave men and women who served in the protection of our great country.
2015 marked 100 years since the ANZAC Gallipoli landing. In conjunction with this occasion, new interpretation boards have been installed to enhance visitors knowledge on the construction and difficulties faced by the Allied Works Forces during the Second World War.
